Dementia is a health condition that impairs cognitive function and mental wellbeing. It typically affects older people, although it is not considered to be a normal part of the aging process. Statistics show that over 47 million people around the world suffer from some form of dementia. Not only that, there are over 7 million new dementia cases coming to light ever year as well. Dementia is not a disease, but it can lead to a number of serious diseases of the brain. The most common one is

Alzheimer’s disease, which brings about symptoms of memory loss, poor judgment, memory lapses, constant disorientation and difficulty speaking. Eventually, the symptoms will get worse and the patient will end up with a lack of oxygen to their brain. Once this happens, they will be a prime candidate for brain trauma and stroke. The worst part is there is no cure for dementia. That is why it has to be taken seriously and treated as early as possible. That way the person suffering from the condition can slow down the progression of the symptoms.

Eventually, the symptoms of dementia will increase or get worse as the patient gets older. They will likely experience all of the symptoms described in this book at some point in their dementia, whether it is in their early stages or later stages. So always keep this book handy because you never know when you might need it again. But read through it first to become familiar with the symptoms.

That way you can easily recognize the warning signs in your patient and then take action immediately
